The Living Learning Center (LLR) houses 312 students, including Watauga College, North Carolina Teaching Fellows, and international exchange students. Most Watauga classes are held in the residence hall classrooms, with faculty offices and larger classrooms in the adjacent academic wing (LLA).
All rooms are suite arrangements, with a bathroom shared by four people. Single rooms (six suites of four rooms each) are available for an extra fee and are usually occupied by returning students. There are numerous study and social spaces and six well-equipped kitchens throughout the building. The LLR is located above the residence halls of Stadium Heights and the School of Music Complex in a lovely, secluded setting, just a short walk from the center of campus.
Directions:
The LLC is located on Bodenheimer Drive, up the hill from Rivers Street (on the way to the Broyhill Inn). Our driveway is directly across from Mountaineer Apartments.
Parking for registered vehicles is available on the driveway, in the small paved lot on Bodenheimer just past the driveway, or across the street in the Mountaineer lots (faculty/staff only). Visitors with a permit may park further up in the Greenwood lot and take the footpath through the woods or the sidewalk on Bodenheimer to the LLC.
You may find it more convenient to park in the Raley lot on Rivers Street and walk up the stairs. The entrance to the stairs can be found between Wey Hall and Farthing Auditorium. An alternative route is to take the "unofficial" stairway from the Stadium parking lot that begins behind Winkler Residence Hall.
The LLC is two buildings ~ a residence hall and academic wing. The offices for Watauga College are on the ground floor of the academic wing, which is the smaller of the two buildings. The residence hall is accessible only by guests of the residence or Watauga College, Teaching Fellows or International Programs. |
